Points system kerfuffle

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Keeping Foreigners Out today denied rumours that large stocks of guidance literature had been pulped.

A source close to the Ministry stated that a couple of problems with the recently updated guide to the new points system had seen two batches destroyed.

"The first English print was rife with spelling and grammatical errors", he told us. "The next run was fine, but a problem arose with the translated versions. One of the questions devised to test an applicant's ability to read English that simply stated 'Do you understand this sentence?' was translated along with everything else rendering it moot"

This comes as another blow to the Ministry who is already facing criticism after exceeding its budget with the purchase of a large number of hourglasses containing precious stones which fall or rise that would be used to track the current applicant's point status.
