Why you have to love Windows sometimes

Oh and yes clicking on Properties and Test happily reports the scanner is working and yes it works from TWAIN acquisition.

One of my favourit things about Windows is when you visit London. Last time I was there, we went on the underground. And instead of notice boards along the escalators, they had LCDs. And every single one said “STOP 0x0000000B”. That's a great advert, right there!

I don't know where it was, but somewhere else in London we found a busy street square with huge electronic displays on all sides. And while most of them blasted out giant adverts for Coca-Cola or MaxFactor, one whole side of the street just said “Windows has encountered an unexpected condition and must be restarted Please contract your system administrator.”

Another favorit one has to be “Error 0x0000: The operation completed successfully.” Wait, it's an error for the software to work correctly? Suddenly Microsoft Word makes a while lot more sense! ;-)
