More roadworks ahoy

Worcestershire Highways were out yesterday afternoon on the Dunley Road next to Harold Davies Drive having a measure. Nothing apparent later, but two of their quasi-mystical signs have appeared in the road close to The Rough |-> pointing towards HDD; hmm what could they mean ;-)

[Update - the first one is actually just around the corner from The Rough, I've located the closing <-| where the resurfacing of the bridge ends, that's a reasonable stretch of road as you might expect no signs yet as to when any of this might be occurring]

On another note signs were up on the Stour Bridge warning of signalling and a closed lane where the hole is, workers were poised at Baldwin Road ready to pounce the moment the clock struck twelve. Don't know if it's yet more lampposts or actually fixing the hole I'll find out later.

[Update - as per my comment to Don below it was indeed a repair, square cut and levelled; but we'll see how long it lasts]

The Stour Bridge pothole has not been doing my old car much good recently but yesterday I noticed that the Gilgal lane on Vale Road is deteriorating very rapidly.

The roadworks at the Worcester Street/Vale Road/Minster Road/Church Ave appeared to have all been cleared away on Tuesday but there is absolutly no sign of the sequences of the lights having been changed. So what was that all about?

Don in that case you'll be pleased to discover that was indeed what this morning's little dalliance was regarding. They've filled in the pothole; so let's see 7th August 2008 I wonder how long it'll last?

As for the roadworks at the lights as I've said the minimal disruption has meant they've stayed off my radar, as to what they're doing/have done perhaps they've replaced the old, thick (and valuable) lines with new, thin crappiness :-P

Seriously though no idea, schedules barely give out any details other then time, date, location, and contractor and at times it seems that they do only that when they feel like it.

12 days and I noticed that the contractors are back at the Worcester Street/Minster Road traffic lights. Obviously, like Tav, they are back from their hols!

Hmm I spotted them working on the Church Avenue/Minster Road corner yesterday afternoon; as before at least they're keeping a lane free and clearing everything up at the end of the shift.
