Election leaflets - Independent

Yes we have an purely Independent candidate for this is for the County elections not the European ones.

Simple double-side ink-jet print on A5. Almost missed this entirely amongst the usual detritus needs a bit more layout work to add oomph - particularly the top heading "Disillusioned with normal political parties?" make it bigger wrap it over two lines and you'll attract attention.

Vote for change in 2009 - hey isn't that the Conservatives line? vote Independent (that's the size you want for the header). Vote for John Williams.

Resident in Stouport since 1980, so longer even then me. We get a quick CV demonstrating his practical nature - engineer; and a quick run down on his interests all of which are highly local. We get canals and waterways, appreciation of our Georgian town, member of Worcestershire Waste Core Straegy and an independent witness at the Kidderminster Incinerator Debacle... sorry I meant Inquiry.

"I believe in local representation for local people." and local shops... yeah tired gag. "Vote: PERSON not PARTY" got to agree for some reason.

Back page and text heavy "Don't want to vote? Tired of the usual party system?" again bigger and bolder. The text-heavy is a platform speech from John and I have to say it ticks all my boxes. He states why he's standing and addresses those who don't want to vote and why they should. Points out how party politics can be put on the back-burner for serious matters. Qualifies himself as hoaving no political leanings or financial interests. Slaps in a quick national picture, meh and is in favour of a bypass. Moreover he's stating he has no desire to stand for more than one term; so he won't become a career politician something that needs memorising for a possible future.

And then finally we get a let down "Vote for John Williams You're truly INDEPENDENT candidate" - oh dear, well I won't hold that against him.
