Mitton Street closure update 5

So now they've decided to alternate the sides of the road they're using, first off you're forced to the right lane, then back to the left, before back to the right again until you get past the pub. This, of course, is slowing traffic up.

Not helped yesterday when they decided to park one of their own lorries opposite where they were working as another large lorry tried to squeeze past.

Not helped that when you turn the corner at the CoW you're tempted to switch back to the left lane next to the pub unless you spot that further up that lane is still blocked.

Not helped that the point you can switch back to the left lane (for those who want to) shares the same space as a inspection cover and the road seems to be cambered towards the right.

Oh and most definitely not appreciated  is the fact that the only reason you're forced into the right-hand lane before moving back to the left is a set of cones forcing you into the right-hand lane - no roadworks on the corner and no space to park anything; so why are they there? Well because that's where they were originally placed.

At least they've removed the wrong sign and fixed the lane closure ones. Oh and you do get some smart arses getting to the end of the splitter and trying to do a U-turn into Mitton Street rather than heading up to the island.

On a positive note it really is helping the traffic flow of an evening; getting up to the standard 'bad' in a morning though. Then again from the morning's perspective nothing's changed.
