Just some shopping
Needed to go into Kidderminster on Saturday so had a mosey around some areas. My parents are looking to upgrade their television and setup to the same as I so I poked my head into the Sony Centre and lo and behold they had the 32W5500 at a base price of £699 perhaps as a consequence of this.
Game had copies of the special Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time with the lenticular cover, looked... meh. At least the packaging makes it clear that the downloadable Insomniac Moon is to allow early access rather than an exclusive to such purchasers. Still priced at £49 with the vanilla version at £39; I'll still wait thanks. Sainsbury's didn't have it in stock at all, neither did Curry's which as a new game is a bit odd.
Gamestation had Brutal Legend at £28, which sadly I consider still too expensive for the impressions I got during the demo.
Checked through Marks and Spencer's food court in a combined hunt for food for both next Sunday and Christmas and pretty much meh'ed at what was on offer.
Wandering through Sainsbury's I note the live action version of "Blood: The Last Vampire" has dropped in price, but no Blu-ray version on sale. Likewise "Frequently Asked Questions about Time Travel" was going cheap, but again no Blu-ray version has been released yet; come on guys simultaneous releases please.
Looking through the food for the same reason as before still with the meh, though at least they were still selling the Lebkuchen stars and hearts at 99p or 2 for £1.50. Basically spiced soft gingerbread stars with icing or the same but heart-shaped covered in chocolate with a jammy centre - damn gorgeous and only appear during this period. I try and pick up two packs whenever possible, unopened they'll last until past Christmas.
I was looking for something different out of curiosity as to what was on offer (I'll go to the butcher in Stourport) plenty of chicken, a load of turkey, quite a bit of duck, some venison, some rabbit, some pheasant, but no goose. Huh! Anyway as something special I'm looking at gooducken which I believe the local butcher is doing.
Obeying my bodies signals also meant picking up some bacon, not a food stuff I eat often, along with some eggs for a bacon and egg sarnie, which I eat even more rarely - heaven.
Oh and finally I've always wanted to try my hand at sushi so I picked some up, along with nori, wasabi, and umeboshi; along with some pickled ginger slices. I'll report on how that comes along when I get chance to make some. Preferably before Sunday so I can introduce the Bratii to it; I just want to see their faces eating a slice of the ginger; heh!
