Tesco is coming
A blink and you'd miss it sign has appeared at the Carpets of Worth site peeking over the wall and angled not quite with the flow of traffic proclaiming that a new Tesco's is coming.
Sounds like they're confident that all the appeals will go their way. Let's see when building actually starts though.

I live on the new Barrett estate around the Basin and noticed Tescos have replaced all the temporary walling along severn road. I contacted the Local council and the District council and none of them can tell me what is going on. There was also talk of widening Severn road but apparently this is a myth as the District council said there are no plans for this
Well the planning application was passed so they could start to build on the site any time after the decision date of Oct09.
As to widening Severn Road, as far as I recall that was never on the plans. Alterations at the head of the road were shown but I don't think it was ever specified who would be doing them.
