Misfits E4

A bunch of kids on community service get caught in a freak storm and gain powers! How could I not watch this?

It's pretty good; the writing's sharp, the characters well-rounded and it's a 'realistic' portrayal in that what these powers are and why they have them has yet to be explained. Things happen, they react; I like it when there's no obvious storyline.

One of the things that has set this programme apart from the rest is the tie-in to digital media. A visit to the Misfits home page gives links to the characters Twitter sites that are updated in tune with and between the episodes giving a level of behind the scenes thought that is normally only available in clumsy inner monologues or the printed medium.

So yeah I've been watching it, or at least attempting to. It's on E4 Thursdays so I tend to get to watch it early Friday evening up until the point where it chops off the last minute of recording. So then I tend to wait until the Wednesday re-run and watch the last minute Thursday morning. Odd that the re-run records the whole lot, but the episode proper tends to cut off. At least it's on 4oD; I'll have to see if that works on the PS3.

Off-topic I've been re-watching Veronica Mars also on E4, partly because it's good and partly so I might get a chance to see the full episodes (what is it with E4 that cuts things?) anyway I recall one episode from the first run my recording started at a point with a casino owner knocking on a door and talking to a baseball star. Turns out it had only recorded half the episode (and half the next programme). This time round I start the recording and... it started at a point with a casino owner knocking on a door and talking to a baseball star. That's a little freaky.
